Roberto Cavalli – MFW AW12
With Roberto Cavalli being my fave designer just ahead of Versace, I knew the latest collection would round off Milan Fashion Week with a bang… And a dash of Naomi Campbell in the finale was the icing on the cake!
My outsider view on the runway:
The latest offering is classic Cavalli but with a slightly more stronger and less playful twist. Everything in the collection is big, bold and theatrical, almost a complete play on fashion. Cavalli made sure everything was oversized and outlandish, without using lots of colours. The fur maxi skirts… Um… WOW! The sequins were out in force but not in an overly loud way, as the tones are more bronze and metallic rather than high gold or silver. I’d like one sharpish!
For a slightly more playful style, some of the head to toe pieces have layered ruffles and the mini’s take on a whole new chic party girl vibe with bubble skirts against bright and bold summer colours of fuschia pink and bright green.
