Jil Sander – MFW SS13
Welcome back Jil Sander, and what a great returning collection!
My outsider view on the runway:
As much as the collection was using dark colours the cuts, the shapes, the style and the overall look was just AMAZING! I loved the AW12 collection by Raf Simons, especially the sugary pink cocoon coat but Ms Sander‘s entry back at the helm is even better. I’m not a fan of burgundy but flippin ‘eck she does great garments using the colour! Those matching and contrasting boots are defo on my wishlist!
I love the pieces that cocoon out from the waist, and also the sculpted cocoon dresses with the tubular sleeves. I was a bit surprsied to see the bright orange front pleat trousers hit the runway but they did look good with the longtime cream waistcoat.
No-one does navy quite like Ms Sander, but then again she does have a Navy sub label. Anyhoo my fave navy piece has to go to the cocoon skirt dress with a thick brown panel belt. Simple. Classic and curve friendly!
I notice she tried to play around a bit with the sport luxe theme, but I feel she went a little too loose and it came across as too masculine.
As much as I like my brash and outlandish fashion, Jil Sander is the epitome of wearable classic chic. LOVE HER!
